About This University
Eastern Mediterranean University or EMU Cyprus is the only public university in the northern part of the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. Founded in 1979, it is one of the top 10 universities in Northern Cyprus.The International Higher Education Institute initially started as a technology institute, but now EMU University of Cyprus has expanded its work to include approximately 100 diverse undergraduate and 80 postgraduate courses for students.

Art & Science Faculty is one of the three faculties established in 1986, when the institute of Higher Technology was transformed into a state university under the name of Eastern Mediterranean University.
The Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE), began enrolling students in the two undergraduate programs of Business Administration and Economics in 1986.
The Faculty of Communication and Media Studies continues in the long tradition of graduating qualified students since the 1997-1998 academic year.
The Faculty of Architecture, which began its academic activities as a department of architecture under the Faculty of Engineering in 1991, was converted into a Faculty in 1997 with Departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture.
